Sky TV Coming Soon To Xbox 360

In a rather interesting and surprising announced UK Satelite company SKY and Xbox 360 will be joining forces to bring UK Xbox 360 gamers Sky TV Player direct to their xbox console - in other words the best of Sky TV, Films and Sports will be beamed (via broadband) directly to your xbox console.

The Sky Player, Sky TV’s online service, launches on Xbox LIVE this autumn, bringing with it a vast array of channels and programming that you can view live or on-demand. The ink is barely dry on the deal and we’re still finalising the full line-up, but you can reckon on accessing blockbuster movies, Premier League football, absorbing documentaries and the very best of music, the arts and must-see entertainment shows for all the family – all delivered direct to your Xbox 360 without the need for a satellite dish or any other kind of separate plug-in device. A broadband connection is all that’s required.

If you’re new to Sky prepare to be dazzled by the choice of live channels and premium content, all of which are available via a choice of subscription packages or on a pay-per-view basis. Existing Sky customers will enjoy the obvious benefits of having an alternative and, we might add, highly versatile way to enjoy their favourite shows.

We’re looking at exciting ways to enhance your Sky-viewing experience too, bringing some of the Xbox 360’s unique functionalities into the mix. In the case of Sky Sports football content we’re thinking real-time interactivity, with mates chatting LIVE about matches, instant results, fixture updates and such. We’ll bring you more news soon.

Likewise we’ll be back soon with full launch and pricing details. Meantime the future has well and truly arrived and the Xbox 360 has finally become that mythical device that sits underneath your TV, calmly and efficiently handling all your entertainment needs. If it later becomes possible to broadcast tea and a round of toast via broadband you can bet we’ll be all over it!

I will definately be keeping my eyes open for this one as i am both a "Sky HD Subscriber" and a "Xbox 360 Gamer" and i like using both services very much.

Dance Fablous N-Gage Page

The Official "Dance Fabulous" N-Gage page has gone up showing a few pictures of the game aswell as a breif description of it aswell as links to various other sites such as Nokia Music Store (as you can use your own music in Dance Fabulous) and the new Nokia 5730 Xpressmusic phone (tells you abit about the phone).

The main key-point of this website though is the "PRE-ORDER" aspect - because if you visit the website on your phone you can be in with a chance of getting a FREE 30-Day Trial of the game, which is very generous. But the only way to do that is to visit the main dance fabulous website (which can be seen here) and follow the instructions on the webpage.

Dance fabulous is expected to be released onto the N-Gage platform on 16th june, so get your dancing shoes ready as it will soon be time to party!

Gears Of War 2 Online Changes

Everday i always end up having a go on Gears Of War 2 online, its just one of thoose games, like halo 3 or Call Of Duty 4, that never gets boring online - not to mention a variety of achievements that need to be unlocked, none the less some minor changes have occured in the online world of Gears Of War 2.

The most noticable changes are that unlike originally intended the game is back to its original 4 v 4 instead of 5 v 5 (which is what it used to be) - however the game does seem to be running alot smoother, unlike before where every match seemed to lag - another new change is the Smoke grenade, instead of the grenade exploding and making your character fall on the floor for 2 seconds it just paralyzes your character (shield type posistion) for 2 seconds - i guess to make you less vulnareble to being shot with the shotgun.

Not other changes have been noticed however no update is downloaded or installed for these new settings to be applied and no idea whether or not this is peramant or just a trial - still lag free gaming is better than laggy gaming.

N-Gage: AMF Bowling Screenshots and Game Features

Hot After the news of AMF Bowling Pinbusters coming to N-Gage i decided to scope around Vir2L Stuiods website and found the main "key features" of the game plus a handful of screenshots so here it comes:

* Bowl in exotic locations such as the Route 66, Spielgasse, Hong Kong Penthouse Palace, Studio 77, Ten-pin Shrine, Highland Bowling, Deep Space Lanes and more!

* Choose from 12 unique characters, each with their own signature move

*Experience multiplayer fun with Hot Seat or with the global N-Gage Arena Multiplayer & Rankings

* Challenge yourself with four single-player modes including: World Cup, Precision, Duckpins, or Practice

* Use the Psyche meter to build Psyche points and unleash the "Special Move" with its unstoppable strike 'em down power!

and here are some screenshots of the game:

Vir2l Studios To Be Releasing Two New N-Gage Games

N-Gage Arena member (and a friend of mine) Brainimpactrush posted earlier this mourning that a new N-Gage game (being developed by Vir2l Studios) had been published in the "Coming Soon" Section of the N-Gage Showroom, this game was infact "AMF Bowling: Pinbusters" and you can see the page here.

Not only that he did some reasearch and found out that Vir2l Studios had an N-Gage Section on their website and they are also publishing a Moto GP style racing game called "Ducati Moto" - however this game has not been placed in the coming soon section of the N-Gage Showroom, probably because its being developed by someone else and is not ready for publishing.

Ducati Moto does not have a gamepage (on the publisher's website) however it does have a gamepage for its AMF Bowling Game and according to the features this bowling game will feature online multiplayer and rankings not to mention a variety of game modes and characters, you can see its developer gamepage here.

Both games have previously been released on another platform, AMF Bowling was released on the Nintendo Wii shortly after "Wii Bowling" became popular (i tihnk its retail price was around 20 GBP), but not only that a DS version has been released (which the N-Gage version is a port of) - but it was an offline game only, and Ducati Moto is supposed to be heading (or has already) to the Nintendo DS, so both of these N-Gage games are ports of a Nintendo DS Game, how cool is that!

Vir2L Studios previously released "The Elder Scrolls: Shadowkey" onto the Original N-Gage and N-Gage QD so i believe these 2 games should proove to be very good games in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Spore Origins Arrives Onto N-Gage Platform

Electronic Arts Monster creating and caring simulator has finally arrived onto the N-Gage Platform and it arrived in a nice fashion by being uploaded into the N-Gage Shorwoom during an N-Gage Golf Touranment.

So the question appeared, do you either play Golf or download a new game? - thats the tough choice some N-Gage players had to face and i was not one of them (for once).

At the moment the game has only appeared on the "N-Gage Application Showroom" and not the main showroom on the website, however i can tell you that the game costs 6 GBP and is 3mb to download onto your device - so its one of the smaller sized games, but will the game be just as small - hopefully not.

If you fancy giving the game a try login to N-Gage on your device and download it now! Happy Gaming!

New Arcade Machines You'll Find In An Arcade This Summer!

Over the past week i have been travelling around the east coast, mainly skegness, ingoldmells and mablethorpe - and have stumbled across a variety of new arcade games, usually i would not post about new machines, however, all the games i stumbled across had recent creation dates on - which were actually imprinted on the game screen itself and not the cabinet.

Most people who know me know that im a HUGE arcade fan and love playing on arcade games, espically the Time Crisis and House Of The Dead Series - but three of these new games actually distracted me from time crisis, one being a similar kind of game.

So here is a run down of Arcade machines you are likely to see getting the most attention in an arcade center near you.

Rambo & Primeval Hunt:

The image of the two deluxe cabinets are shown above, so ill start by explaining Rambo first. Rambo is, to be blunt, a cheap cash-in by SEGA as the game just follows the plot of the first 3 movies and instead of re-creating the cut-scenes with in-game graphics they decided to use High Definition Re-master of the original movie clips, so before the level starts (and after the boss) you'll see a few minutes of clips from the movies before diving into the action - which isnt that good.

The whole point of the game is to shoot everything that moves (other than civilians (if there is any?)) there is no stratergy (such as time crisis or primeval hunt) just shoot everything on screen before you get shot and its no easy task as the screen can be filled with around 20 enemies far and close and sometimes 3 of them will be firing a critical shot (where a red circle around the enemy appears and within 2 seconds you get shot, which means 1 life lost). The only thing that makes this game unique, apart from its impressive HD Visuals, is that after a certain amount of time you fill up a RAGE METER, once this is full pressing a button on the gun will trigger RAGE mode, this is where the player has unlimited ammo and invinciblity for around 30 seconds - it comes in handy and very useful for the bosses which can rather long and annoying.

So Rambo is about destroying anything that moves with shed loads of bullets, however SEGA's other arcade game this year called "Primeval Hunt" - which im guessing is inspired by the ITV's Primeval TV Series is where your a character hunting down dinosaurs.

The Unique thing about Primeval hunt, other than its great visuals, is that not only do you have 3 Health icons like on any other arcade shooter but you also have a strict bullet limit - in other words if you run out of ammo its game over and the only way to beat the game is to kill all the dinosaurs with the ammo you have. All dinosaurs have weakspots which usually , if hit correctly, can be killed within 1 or 2 shots - but these weakspots are usually very small.

Another thing to mention is that a small LCD screen is on the gun holder, where the guns are kept, and it tells you the weakspots of dinosaurs that appear aswell as where you are on the current level - its a pritty clever game but its only for people with higher accuarcy otherwise you will see the game over screen.

Razing Storm:

Razing Storm is a new time crisis / crisis zone spin off from arcade legends NAMCO - but instead of being set in the present day it has been set in the future, 2030 if i remember correctly, where robotics now plays a huge part of war and terrorism - meaning not only will you be defending against hoards of soldiers but youll also encounter small manned robot suits with gattling guns as well as giant robot spider tanks.

If you notice in the picture it says "Complete Destruction Machine Gun Game" and "Shoot Like Crazy, Smash And Destroy" - the reason for this is that EVERYTHING in the game enviroment is destructable, including walls, buildings, tanks etc, if its blocking your view shoot it and it will fall, similar to Crisis Zone except on a much larger scale - at certain points in the game if you manage to destory something well you will even gain some extra bonus points.

Basically similar plot to Crisis Zone you and your team have been sent in to stop a terroist threat that will happen gloabally (as you travel to different locations on different stages) - the game is set out in 3 Main stages, as well as a bonus stage (if you collect all 10 Dog-tags throughout the game and destroy the missiles before the final boss) - each Stage is split up into 6 small Areas - even though each area is small the later ones do get abit tough. The main weapon of the game is a machine gun with 60 bullets, which at times feels like it never runs out of ammo, however during certain parts of the game you will be given a Cluster Shot (basically a shotgun) a rocket launcher (for giant spider bosses) a sniper file (appears once at start of stage 3) and a lazer targeter (similar to Hammer Of Dawn in Gears Of War) - my favourite has to be the Machine gun, mainly due to recoil feeling so awesome.

Since its a gun-shooter game made by NAMCO a foot-pedal is also here, as just like in crisis zone you have to duck behind your riot shield, the only difference here is that its abit slower than crisis zone, so do not wait until the last possible second before dodging as you will probably get hit. getting hit has slightly changed aswell as they have now implemented the critical shot system from Virtua Cop where a red or blue ring (depending on which player you are) will appear around the enemie, once the 4 lines have disappeared and the circle glow orange that soldier is about to shoot you.

The Graphics are better than Time Crisis 4 on PS3 and it is running on Namco's PS3 Eqvilant hardware, so it would not be surprising if a PS3 Port is released within the next few years, another interesting thing to mention is that the game uses virtual DTS/5.1 Surround sound by utilising the 5/6 Speakers in the game cabinet and it really works well, during the final boss i actually thought someone was shooting behind me it was amazing!

Razing Storm is easily now my favourite arcade "new" machine not because its short but because it is ALOT of fun!

Guitar Hero Arcade:

Guitar Hero Arcade will probably be the most popular arcade game this summer, even though the game contents are 2 years old.

The game was developed by Activision, Published by Konami (same people who made Guitar Freaks many years ago) and arcade cabinet provided by Raw Thrills (they make the "Pro Hunter Cabinets" - so the game is really a mixed bunch of developers and publishers.

The game itself is Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock (Guitar Hero 3) with around 8 Different tracks such as Coldplay - Yellow, Bloc Party - Helicopter and Linkin Park - No More Sorrow, however another difference is that the graphics seem more sharper and crisp than the console version - but the really big plus side of this machine is the noise.

Their is 6 Speakers in the arcade cabinet itself, 4 large speakers at the bottem of the cabinet (2 behind each of the guitar controllers) and 2 at the top (opposite sides of the game logo) - the 4 speakers at the bottem generate the music and bass at very loud (literally turn it up to 11) sounds where as the top at the top generate the vocals of the song - it works really well and within a few seconds of playing a song you feel like your own stage doing a live show, not to mention people from outside hear it and start to come and watch.

The game is played exactly the same as you would on the console version, except its timed, as soon as you put your credit it in and press the Red or Blue button (to choose player 1 or 2) it will give you 10 seconds to confirm or wait for a second player, afterwards you get 20 seconds to choose a difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert) then 30 seconds to choose a character and guitar (all characters are unlocked from GH3 are here) and then you get 40 seconds to choose a song, once you have chosen a song the song will start and once you have finished it will show you your results and then , if you scored high enough, you will be asked to enter your name - once you have finished the game ends.

Playing the game is the same as the console version, press the coloured fret buttons when they appear at the bottem and strum to hit them - simple - the only difference is that there is no whammy bar, however if your on a long note and its star power it will automatically turn blue (to drain the star power energy) - which i guess is a good thing. To activate star power tilt the guitar as you would normally, but be warned the guitar is alot more heavier than the console versions - probably coz its made of hard plastic / metal.

If you read above correctly you may be thinking "do i only get to play 1 song?" and the answer is "YES" - 1 credit = 1 song, which for me seems abit of a rip off, espically when konami's Dancing Stage gives you up to 3 songs before ending the game.

Speaking of credits each of these games cost £1 per go the shooting games give you 3 lives per credit and guitar hero arcade gives you 1 song per credit - ive already played 3 of these arcade games and i rather enjoyed, so you might even see my name on some of them - espically the guitar hero game.

Gears Of War 2 - Double Experience Weekend!

For this weekend only EPIC Games and Xbox Live are hosting a "Double Experience" weekend, were all experience gained on Public matches is doubled for this weekend only.

The reason for this weekend event is to give dedicated (and casual) Gears players a chance to beef up their online ranking to gain some achievements, as 4 achievements require the player to reach levels 10, 25, 50 and 100 and to get the higher levels takes alot of time, alot of kills and alot of effort.

The "double experience" weekend starts on Friday 5pm EST and ends Monday 9am EST but im not "100%" sure if this is for americans only or for the whole world, hopefully it will be for the whole world as i wouldnt mind some extra experience (im currently level 32 myself).

Anyway get yourself a GOLD Subscription and get yourself Gears Of War 2 as this weekend chainsaws WILL Colide and loucusts will fall in this epic experience.

Guitar Hero Arcade Arrives On UK Shores!

A Short break away from home brings some nice surprises, as down in mablethorpe i stumbled across "Guitar Hero Arcade" an arcade port of Guitar Hero 3.

The Arcade game has been developed by Activision / Neversoft, but published by Konami and has put installed into an arcade cabinet similar to Guitar Freaks, so the question remains how much did activision have to pay to let Konami use their style of arcade cabinets, espically since Konami are releasing publishing Rock Revolution onto the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The Arcade game itself is a port of Guitar Hero 3, however the graphics seem to be more sharper and clearer than the console version, but the arcade game does feature the same songs in Guitar Hero 3 such as Black Sabbaths - Paranoid, The Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane and Tenacious D's - The Metal.

The plus side of the arcade cabinet is that its nice and smaller, but very loud - the screen is a crisp 32" High Definition LCD with 2x 400Watt Speaks and Subwoofer installed at the bass and when playing the game it does feel like your playing on a real stage.

The Guitar controllers are exactly the same as the console versions, except they are alot more heavier and feel alot more realistic - not to mention hurt like hell when you knock them on your arm - the only thing missing is the whammy bar (which kind of sucks) - but everything else feels exactly same as the console version.

The only downfall of the arcade game is that 1 Credit gives you 1 song and 1 credit = £1 and some harder songs require you to folk over another £1 or £2 just to play 1 harder song, however this only appears after the 3rd set of difficulty songs, even so it can still be annoying if one of your favourite songs is another £1 more.

The Guitar Hero arcade game is definately a new arcade machine as on the screen itself it tells you the date of creation (or when it was last updated) and this machine was created / updated on 24th March 2009, so its a very new game and its arrived on UK shores at "The Mirage" arcade in mablethorpe.

This same arcade "The Mirage" was also the first and only place to have SEGA'S TOO SPICY arcade game last year and was the first place to have Time Crisis 4 back in 2007. If you fancy some arcade guitar hero action then id suggest taking a look at the game, even though it is expensive it does give you a really good buzz - happy gaming!

Pandemonium Arrives Onto N-Gage Platform

After no N-Gage games were released yesterday people started to think no games were due out this week however Pandemonium has just been released onto the N-Gage Platform.

The PS1/Sega Saturn platformer classic once made a re-appearance on the original N-Gage back in 2003 and was one of the first titles to be released at launch - it was popular back then and it still is popular now, hence why the game has been "revised" and "re-released" onto the new N-Gage platform.

Pandemonium costs 6 GBP to buy and judging from the reception of other n-gage players on the n-gage arean its worth the money as the game comes packed with 18 levels of platforming action (3 levels are available to play in the trial / demo) with reasonable graphics and controls - not to mention its a game thats very enjoyable to play in landscape format.

The game requires 20mb of storage space on your memory card aswell, so its a "mid-ranged" kind of game, in terms of storage.

Pandemonium is now available to download and buy via the n-gage showroom on the n-gage application via your device, however the game showroom on the website has not been updated yet - this usually takes a few days after the release of a game.

Three New XBLA Games Heading This Wednesday!

After the past few months of rather slow un-entertaining xbox live arcade releases - the games are starting to slip through onto our consoles.

last week saw the release of "Banjo-Tooie" and "Virtua On-T" not to mention an add-on for "Hasbro's Family Game Night" called "Sorry!".

Well this weekend see's the release of yet another three Xbox Live Arcade titles, some of which have only been announced recently, and others that people have looking forward to. The three xbox live arcade games confirmed for release this wednesday are:

* Arkanoid LIVE!
* Space Invaders Extreme
* Zombie Wranglers

each game will cost 800 MS Points - which is lower than what the previous few releases have been, Arkanoid & Space Invaders have been re-made in High Definition with both "Classic" and "Remixed" versions of the game - much like the previous "retro" titles have - so im pritty interested in what Space Invaders is going to look like as i loved that game as kid.
