Guitar Hero Arcade Arrives On UK Shores!

A Short break away from home brings some nice surprises, as down in mablethorpe i stumbled across "Guitar Hero Arcade" an arcade port of Guitar Hero 3.

The Arcade game has been developed by Activision / Neversoft, but published by Konami and has put installed into an arcade cabinet similar to Guitar Freaks, so the question remains how much did activision have to pay to let Konami use their style of arcade cabinets, espically since Konami are releasing publishing Rock Revolution onto the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The Arcade game itself is a port of Guitar Hero 3, however the graphics seem to be more sharper and clearer than the console version, but the arcade game does feature the same songs in Guitar Hero 3 such as Black Sabbaths - Paranoid, The Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane and Tenacious D's - The Metal.

The plus side of the arcade cabinet is that its nice and smaller, but very loud - the screen is a crisp 32" High Definition LCD with 2x 400Watt Speaks and Subwoofer installed at the bass and when playing the game it does feel like your playing on a real stage.

The Guitar controllers are exactly the same as the console versions, except they are alot more heavier and feel alot more realistic - not to mention hurt like hell when you knock them on your arm - the only thing missing is the whammy bar (which kind of sucks) - but everything else feels exactly same as the console version.

The only downfall of the arcade game is that 1 Credit gives you 1 song and 1 credit = £1 and some harder songs require you to folk over another £1 or £2 just to play 1 harder song, however this only appears after the 3rd set of difficulty songs, even so it can still be annoying if one of your favourite songs is another £1 more.

The Guitar Hero arcade game is definately a new arcade machine as on the screen itself it tells you the date of creation (or when it was last updated) and this machine was created / updated on 24th March 2009, so its a very new game and its arrived on UK shores at "The Mirage" arcade in mablethorpe.

This same arcade "The Mirage" was also the first and only place to have SEGA'S TOO SPICY arcade game last year and was the first place to have Time Crisis 4 back in 2007. If you fancy some arcade guitar hero action then id suggest taking a look at the game, even though it is expensive it does give you a really good buzz - happy gaming!
