Nokia: Go Play N-Gage Music Video Wrap Up!

Another Year, another N-Gage Music Video Wrap up, but this time i was actually there! Features pictures and clips from various different games and phones - most of which you have already seen but with some groovy music!

Over at the Wom World website they have launched a "Virtual Tour" for you guys at home to experience the Nokia GO Play event in the comfort of your own home. You will see questions & answers, reviews, hands-on experiences with the devices and even a short blooper real.

N-Gage Charter Program - Starts Today!

Its nearly the end of summer and for most teens its back to school, well the team over the n-gage arena have come with a tournment for next-gen arena, its called the N-Gage Charter Program.

In reality there our no looses, as everyone gets a prize - thats if you get the right amount of points, but more about that later.

The Charter Member Program is our way of rewarding the loyal and dedicated core of N-Gage players who are ready for the transition to the next generation of N-Gage.

Through a mix of gaming events and group activities, you can earn points in the Charter Member Program, which will give you an opportunity to receive special recognition in the new N-Gage Arena as well as a chance to win a next generation N-Gage devices and other fantastic prizes.

To Take part in this charter program you have to register your N-Gage Arena username here, and then take part in events here. The Events are always announced on a monday (or tuesday) in a special thread in the events and tournaments forum. Here you can find out what is going to happen throughout the week.

If your an N-Gage fan or even a gamer you should definately take part in this charter program, as its a boost to starting your Next gen gaming collection.

The First event starts today at 9pm GMT and its Beat The Mod Event, hope to see some of you there.

Nokia "GO Play" Event In London!

Next Wedesnday is another date to add to your Nokia Calendar, espically for press events and launch parties. On Wesnesday 29th August Nokia are hosting a special "GO Play" Event to celeberate the release of the latest N-Series phones as-well as other services, then in the evening it will be time to head over to the Ministry of Sound Club to celebrate the launch of Nokia's Music Service, which is a Music Store service like Itunes.

For the first time EVER! i will be at this event (thanks to the guys & girls at NSeries Womworld), so check back next week to see pictures and news about the event.

HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray War continues....Paramount Goes Exclusives with HD-DVDs

In an unexpected twist by Paramount, they have recently announced that they will EXCLUSIVELY release HD Movies onto HD-DVD's, rumours (and some posts) suggest that its a beal between paramount, microsoft and toshiba to make the format continue in this HD War.

However alot of movie directors (and teams) are out-raged in this decision, espically Micheal Bay, director Of The Transformers Move, which was supposed to be released onto Blu-ray later in the year. He stated that ""I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks!", he also stated that he would not direct Transformers 2, if this was to continue, however with a few hours cooling peroid he took back his words and said he would still direct transformers 2, but he was still upset that his film would not becoming to Blu-ray.

The exclusive HD-DVD commitment will include all movies distributed by Paramount, DreamWorks Pictures, Paramount Vantage, Nickelodeon Movies, MTV Films, and DreamWorks Animation, according to a press release, So don't expect any of these companies to release there movies to Blu-ray anytime soon, as the contract lasts 18 months.

According to other reports ive seen on the internet Paramounts e-mail service was overflooded with complaints regarding their decison to exclusively support HD-DVDs, another problem is that Transformers was exclusively going to be released on DVD, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, but reports now suggest that the film is exclusively coming to HD-DVD.

guess i got rid of my HD-DVD Drive too soon, as most of my favourite move companies are on Blu-ray, but now its 50/50.....its going to be interesting on what happens in the next few months, but its definatelty becoming another VHS vs BETAMAX type war..

Elite Officially Launches in the UK! and £20 Price Drops!

Microsofts Latest addition to the Xbox 360 family has finally arrived and this time its the ELITE Version. The Official retail price is £299.99 in the UK, however you can find it easy enough for £299.99 + Blue Dragon, or if you want a better deal head over to Currys (possibly PC World if they stock 360's) and u can grab Xbox 360 Elite + Blue Dragon + Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 or Rockstar Tennis for an amazing £299.99.

I got mine today, but still haven't had time to set it up. If you still don't know what the difference is well the Elite has a 100GB bigger Hard Drive (120GB) and a HDMI Port, as well as being BLACK like the original xbox.

However from 21st July all 360's manufactured after this date have a HDMI port in, but the chances of getting a 360 with a HDMI port (apart from the elite) are still slim.

In other 360 related news the Core and Full versions have dropped £20, so £179.99 for the core and £259.99 for the full console. Microsoft is definately doing something right this time along with their games console.

EPIC Studios strange, but serious moves...

In a strange move by Gears Of War Creator, EPIC Studios have decided not to release Unreal Tournament 3 onto the Xbox 360 and PC, instead the game will be exclusively (heard that before) released onto the PS3.

However When questioned about this move, EPIC replied that the PC Version may still be released in the near future, but for now its staying on the "maybe" shelf. The reason for PS3 to be exclusively released onto the PS3, is that, like older PC versions, they want to be able to make mods and for users to create mods and patch the game themselves. So in other words Unreal Tournament 3 is your basic game (with few new weapons and characters and storyline), but its the die hard fans that will make the game more enjoyable with new features.

They also stated that the PS3 offers more power than the Xbox 360, but they might be due to the amount of information your can store on a blu-ray disc, since 360 is still using DVDs where as PS3 is using Blu-ray which holds 4x (maybe 8x) more data than your average disc.

nextly Gears Of War, my favourites xbox 360 and an online joy, is getting transfered to the PC with some more extras. These includes 5 more chapters that fill-up some of the holes in the storyline, as well as taking on that giant dinosaur looking loucust (that you run away from in chapter 4). They will also throw in the 4 new maps that have been available on the xbox live marketplace for the past month.

seems all good for PC Gamers, but for xbox gamers its a piss take. No new content, or even patches have been announced, however EPIC Studios have said that it isn't the end of GEARS OF WAR on the xbox 360 yet, so i guess we can expect to see a seqeual in the near future.

some other greats news is that Gears Of War for the PC has been desgined to work on "average" pc specifications, so if your machine can run call of duty 2 / halo / halo 2, it sounds like your machine will run gears of war - but the final specs haven't been released yet.

so to sume up, UT3 is now a PS3 Exclusively and will be released in the next few months, Gears Of War is heading to the PC with new features and will work on average computers, not only that it will be released at the end of the year.

Japanese Crazy!

Over the past week i have been going "JaPaNeSe" Crazy, espically over the sega saturn and playstation 1 / PSOne. Last week i spent $141 / £70.50 on a Grey Japanese Sega Saturn + 2 Controllers + Virtua Gun (Black) and 7 Games... aswell as a step down transformer so i don't fry my new, but old console.

Main reason for this is i enjoy playing on my Black Saturn, but i prefer the grey saturn. Plus me being an anime fan there are a few rather enjoyable (or collectiable) games that i want to try out. Such as the 2 Dragonbal Z Titles, which Legends was released onto PS1 in japan (which i have) but still not come into the UK.

Not to mention im still on the hunt for japanese time crisis (or gunvari collection) PS1/PS2 Games. But my ebay watch list (and faourites) is full of japanese games and i should really start saving my money.
